Hotel Monte Hermana, Fukuoka (nights 2-3)

Set in the heart of Fukuoka’s Tenjin district, this modern hotel is close to a wide range of nearby restaurants and shops. Well-equipped guestrooms have air conditioning, TVs, a mini-fridge, tea/coffee-making facilities and free Wi-Fi. A 24-hour front desk is available, and a breakfast buffet is offered every morning.

FAV LUX Nagasaki, Nagasaki (nights 4-5)

Overlooking Nagasaki’s glittering waterfront, this sleek hotel offers easy access to the city centre from its quieter suburban location. Guests can enjoy an outdoor sun terrace and relaxed indoor lounge area, as well as a spa area with a hot tub, Jacuzzi and sauna. There is also a coffee bar and restaurant, serving international dishes. Refined guestrooms are air-conditioned, and feature TVs, kitchenettes, safes and tea/coffee-making facilities.

Please note: On certain departure dates, you'll stay at the Hotel New Nagasaki instead.

Hotel New Nagasaki, Nagasaki (nights 4-5)

Conveniently located in the heart of Nagasaki, only a short walk from the popular Amu Plaza shopping area and a host of renowned local bars, this hotel promises a comfortable retreat in amongst the bustle of the city. Guests can enjoy casual dining at one of the hotel’s three restaurants, which serve Chinese, Japanese and Western cuisine respectively. Modern guestrooms feature city views, and encompass TVs, free Wi-Fi and tea/coffee-making facilities.

Hotel Nikko Ōita Oasis Tower, Ōita (nights 6-7)

Officially the tallest building in Ōita, this landmark hotel is situated at the heart of the city’s attractions and offers panoramic views over Beppu Bay and Mount Yufu. There are a number of banquet halls, restaurants and bars, serving French and Japanese cuisine, and the hotel is based within walking distance of Ōita’s bustling shopping areas. Cosy guestrooms are comfortably furnished and feature TVs, telephones and city views.

Hotel Kowakuen Haruka, Matsuyama (night 8)

Only a short walk from Matsuyama’s famed Dogo onsen hot springs, this authentic Ryokan hotel promises a comfortable retreat with easy access to the city centre. In addition to two large, indoor thermal baths, the hotel features buffet-style, á la carte and traditional Kaiseki dining options from its restaurants, as well as a souvenir shop. Guestrooms are bright and airy, comprising TVs, mini-fridges, air purifiers/humidifiers, tea/coffee-making facilities, and safes.

Daiwa Roynet Hotel Hiroshima-Ekimae, Hiroshima (night 9)

This hotel is just a short walk from the Hiroshima Station, and is in close distance to a tram stop, which takes you to the Hiroshima Peace Memorial. Guests have access to a restaurant offering buffet-style dining, a gym, and a coin-operated laundry. Simple, modern guestrooms have humidifiers, TVs, hairdryers, safes, mini-fridges, and Wi-Fi.

Miyako Hotel Kyoto Hachijo, Kyoto (nights 10-12)

Housed across two connecting buildings, this high-end hotel is also located within close distance to the train station. Bright and airy guestrooms have TVs, mini-fridges, tea/coffee-making facilities, hairdryers, safes, and free Wi-Fi. There are four dining options, including a Chinese restaurant, as well as a lobby lounge and a bar.

Villa Fontaine Grand Tokyo, Tokyo (nights 13-14)

Positioned across the road from Kokusai-tenjijō train station and the Ariake Colosseum, this sleek hotel encompasses a polished buffet eatery with a show kitchen, an expansive promenade with outdoor seating, a 24-hour front desk, a lounge, and a spa with indoor and open-air baths, saunas and a relaxation zone. Modern guestrooms have custom-made beds, TVs, mini-fridges, tea/coffee-making facilities, safes, hairdryers, air conditioning, irons, and Wi-Fi.
